Hisako - Foundation Cow Born: September 9th, 1996
Hisako is sired by Fukutsuro 068 (imported 1993), the Wagyu marbling specialist who has done so well in the marbling trials for many years. She maintains her vigor and health even at thirteen years of age. Her pedigree goes right to the Wagyu importation of the early 90's.

Hisako and Misako
The wonderful dam and daughter pair are pictured together in the early Fall of 2007. Hisako provides the marbling genetics of Fukutsura 068 and Misako furnishes the frames of her sire Michifuku (imported 1994) who at an advanced age is still a legend in the U.S. and Australia. Misako is our most influential brood cow. She has embryos shipped to Central America and several countries in Europe.

Misako FB 5768 A GENOMIC GIANT!
When the Genestar gold standard was at 14 stars, Misako scored a perfect 14 stars. With the MVP genomic evaluations increasing the number of gene site evaluations, Misako is still a breed leader for marbling with a 1.03 marbling MVP. We know of none higher in the United States. Misako and her daughters are currently being flushed and have embryos available.

Misami FB7968
Misami is a daughter of Misako, the Michifuku genomic giant. Her sire is TF148 Itoshigenami, the son of Shigeshigenami, who is considered one of the all time great bulls from Japan. Misami’s 1.01 marbling MVP is surpassed only by her dam, Misako. Misami has a Terutami ET daughter, a Fukutsura 068 son that is for sale and is currently in calf to TF147 Itoshigefuji for 2010.

Takuma
Takuma is a son of Misako, the breed genomic leader for marbling. Through her, Takuma carries the blood of the foundation Wagyu sires, Michifuku and JVP Fukutsuro 068. TF Terutani, Takuma’s sire, is popular in Australia but has limited offspring in the United States. Terutani is the top-rated Wagyu sire for calving ease and carries high values for rib eye size.
Takuma is a great bull to use for calving ease in a fullblood or crossbreeding program. High quality semen is available from Baycroft Farms. Please contact Jim at (920) 366-7153 or email at baycroftcows@att.net (additional contact information below). The price of semen is $25/unit with volume discounts available. Baycroft Farms has been able to export Takuma semen to several countries in South America through International Protein Sires and their extensive distributor network.

Why Wagyu?
The Wagyu breed was established in Japan in the 1830’s. The export restrictions were relaxed for a time in the 90’s. Several importations to the U.S. were the foundation bloodlines for the current genetics. Our 100% fullblood Wagyu pedigrees blend together the best of the imports to provide potent genes for marbling and tenderness.
Management traits of calving ease, low birth weights and high survivability all mean profit to the producer. The cattle are docile, easy to handle, and have great longevity. Wagyu genetics for extreme marbling and "Beyond Prime" carcass quality fit the current market. Grass and other roughages and Wagyu genetics can produce a high quality product without corn.
Enthusiasts following the grass fed, natural beef program and commercial producers looking to upgrade carcass quality are both looking to the unique genetics offered only from Wagyu.
