The Baycroft Wagyu Co. is located in DePere, WI. Our family has been in the purebred livestock business since 1905. Our Wagyu cattle can hear the cheers on Sunday as we are only ten minutes from Lambeau Field, the historic home of the Green Bay Packers. We hope to provide championship calibre genetics to our customer with high quality embryos and semen. |

Hisako - Foundation Cow
Born: September 9th, 1996
Hisako is sired by Fukutsuro 068 (imported 1993), the Wagyu marbling specialist who has done so well in the marbling trials for many years. She maintains her vigor and health at past eleven years of age. Her pedigree goes right to the Wagyu importation of the early 90's.

Hisako and Misako
The wonderful dam and daughter pair are pictured together in the early Fall of 2007. Hisako provides the marbling genetics of Fukutsura 068 and Misako furnishes the frames of her sire Michifuku (imported 1994) who at an advanced age is still a legend in the U.S. and Australia. Misako is our most influential brood cow. She has embryos shipped to Central America and several countries in Europe.

Why Wagyu?
Kobe beef has been popular in Japan for many years, with the breed being established in the 1830's. Exports were prohibited for many years and the influential U.S. imports were in 1993 and 1994. For flavor and tenderness, many consider the Wagyu breed to produce the best beef in the world.
Management traits of calving ease, low birth weights and high survivability all mean profit to the producer. The cattle are docile, easy to handle, and have great longevity.

Blue Sky!!
2008 is starting with near-record prices and high demand for all grain commodities. Wagyu genetics for extreme marbling and "Beyond Prime" carcass quality fit the current market. Grass and other roughages and Wagyu genetics can produce a high quality product without corn.
